Ivory Talks About WSU Hall of Fame Induction, Jacqueline, Girls Getting Women’s Title Because of Their Looks

The latest issue of The Wrestler magazine has a long multi-page interview with former World Wrestling Entertainment star, Ivory aka Lisa Moretti, talking about her entire career from GLOW through World Wrestling Entertainment , as well as her current doggy daycare business.

Some highlights below:

On her recent induction into the WSU Hall of Fame, Ivory says:

It’s really flattering, but it’s way more fun after I’m finally there. I get uptight about doing a wrestling engagement of any kind, even something as honorable as an induction, because I feel like I don’t belong there anymore. But I got so charged up by watching these great ladies matches, watching girls who really knew how to wrestle. It was fun to watch another generation coming up that really took pride in an all-girls card putting on their own show.

Speaking on her first year in World Wrestling Entertainment , Ivory says she was “getting [her] ass handed to [her] by Jackie Moore” and that that period was her “nine months of living hell.” She adds:

I’m sure she didn’t like me for some reason. I talked to Jazz at a Hall of Fame induction and said something to that effect, and Jazz said that Jackie was never rough with her. I think it’s because she respected Jazz. I’ve rapped my brain about it for a lot of years. I was thinking, ‘Why does this have to be so painful?’ It doesn’t make you look good, and it doesn’t help me make you look good. It’s not professional. Finally, I had to open my mouth about it. I’ve got cuts and burns all over my body to prove it. You don’t DDT someone night after night and not lighten up! You’re literally driving my head into the mat with a tight grip around my neck. She would never talk to me before or after. I’d tell her, “This is a big ol’ Heat match, let’s just have some fun.” Then we’d get out there, and, first punch, bam, she’d connect with my skull. Oh, great, here we go.

Talking about how the Divas were used in her day, Ivory says:

But we were the girls, and at least we got to wrestle and they gave us a shot. We had no storyline and I don’t think anybody knew who the good guy was and the bad guy was. I would look out the curtain and see Scotty 2 Hotty and Grandmaster Sexay master the crowd with all their antics and talent. How the hell were we little girls going to go out there and do anything compared to that? I’m still jealous of Trish Stratus because she was the perfect person to pull it all together. But we had to do it on our own in those early days. Fit Finlay wasn’t assigned to us and working with us every day, that’s for sure. But I survived that and it was really fun. I still need to write a letter to Vince and Linda McMahon, saying thank you.

Ivory touches on how she felt World Wrestling Entertainment disrespected Kurt Angle by mocking his gold medal. She then ties that into the treatment of the Women’s Championship at the time:

Imagine how we girls felt when our women’s belt — our Olympic gold medal — was given to a girl only because she looked good but had no ability? We know bad guys are supposed to cheat to win, and all that is part of the storyline and that’s fine, but it was disparaging when the wrong person wore our gold.

I’m talking about people who got the belt just because it was “their turn.” I was an example of the perfect middle card girl. I had the integrity to want to do a really good job and was stupid enough to think that if I did a really good they’d notice, and, in hindsight, I’m actually sure they noticed because they give you a lot of crap to do because you’re reliable and can get it done. When I was losing the title in an evening gown swimming pool match to Miss Kitty, I was all pissed off about it. [Gerald] Brisco comes to me and says, “Ivory, you’re not going to let me down, are you? I’m countin’ on you to make this work.”

Ivory’s interview can be found in The Wrestler Volume 41, 2011.

Thoughts: There’s a lot more touched in this great QA which spans about eight double pages. Very in depth and a fantastic read. Honestly, reading her thoughts on how the girls were treated back then and about the belt, I couldn’t help but find parallels to the way things work today. “We had no storyline and I don’t think anybody knew who the good guy was and the bad guy was,” could easily be about today’s Divas product. Ivory has a really insightful thought process into her time in the business.

From the sounds of the article, it seems like she’s moved on and looks back at her time with both good and bad memories. I don’t think she’s bitter, because she feels like she’s had her time and realises that and now doesn’t do many conventions etc. Still, I’d love to see Ivory do more in the wrestling business but it’s admirable that she has the dignity to walk away and not try to cling to the spotlight.

Impact Write-Up (June 30th, 2011): Trouble in Psychotic Paradise?

Posted on 02 July 2011 by FrontRowFanatics.com Auto Update

Oh what a week. But I know you don’t care about that so I won’t even scratch that surface. Haha. Last week, we got had a couple of rather quirky, yet violent brawlesque matches. Rails belts and flasks got involved and we all know, when that happens, it isn’t going to be pretty. This week, we’ve got a rather odd set of teams pitting against one another in a 6-Knockout tag team elimination match that is bound to be nasty. We also sit down with one of the other Knockouts who is set on proving that she belongs in Impact Wrestling. If you’re curious, and I know you are, then stick with me and we’ll go on this magical journey together. If not, what are you doing here? Get to Disneyworld.

We start out backstage, where Madison Rayne is primping in front of the mirror as usual. A Queen must stay on top of her appearance. Nice to see the weave hasn’t come back. She is talking smack about Tara, go figure, saying that she’s the reason Tara has a job back in Total Nonstop Wrestling. She’s seemed to forgotten that but Madison, being the kind person she is, will remind her in two weeks when they face each other on Impact. Shameless promotion. By the way, has anyone seen her lip gloss? She hates sharing a locker room with the “skanks” and obviously, someone has stolen it. If you find it, please dial 555-N01CAR3S. Thanks.

Speaking of those “skanks”, in walk Winter and Angelina Love, who seems to have finally gotten back into her normal routine. She has an amused look on her face and when Madison raises her voice, tells her to cut the noises and they didn’t take her lip gloss. But it’s a plumper! Madison, as astounded as anyone, takes notice that Angelina is speaking now. She tells her to speak on and NEVER touch her lip gloss again! Ugh!

Cue the dramatic scene exit.

In a very creepy way, someone standing on the other side of the room behind the camera, busts out a random question. Since when are camera men allowed to speak? And if it isn’t them, who is the creep walking around with the camera man? That’s what I would like to know. Anyway, he asks Winter what her predictions are for the evening and she tells him there is only one. She says she’s going to make the Knockouts champion squeal like a little mouse. She’s already done it and she she be the champion now but she’s going to make it official at Hardcore Justice. With her beautiful minion in her corner, how could she possibly lose? Well, I thought Angelina would have something to say about that but instead, she starts talking about their relationship status. She goes on the record to say it isn’t “synthetic” anymore, it is very real. She says that a lot of Knockouts really need to be put in their place and it is going to start with Mikey…..um, Mickie. It doesn’t matter. Either way, it is guaranteed not to end with her.

Just to start things off, major props to Christy Hemme on that outfit. Love it. So much in fact, I’m coming to steal it. Just to let you know. Anyway, out first in this match are the dastardly duo themselves, Morticia and Minion. They make their painful slow motion entrance to the ring. At first, I thought my video was lagging. Maybe I just hadn’t realized it before, who knows. SHE’S A KILLER QUEEN! Out last for this team is Madison, sash and crown intact and she makes her way to the ring, posing for pictures and waving to her fans. And yes, I agree with Taz. She is freaking hot and she knows it. She was also the longest reigning Knockouts Champion ever and she will never let anyone forget that. Moving on.

For the other team, out first is Miss Tessmacher, who has awesome theme music, by the way. I think this is the first time I’ve really actually heard it. She pops up on the stage and tosses her glasses at the camera, strutting her way down. She’s back to the fuschia this week but hey, I’m not angry. Neither are all the men in the audience, so we’ll just leave it at that. Tara rides out next on her crotch rocket, dressed in an extremely cute black and red outfit that I love. I have always been a fan but I think out of all the Knockouts, Tara is the one I respect the most. HARDCORE COUNTRY! Last but not least, Mickie James bounds out to the ramp, almost a little reluctant to hit the ring. It could be she’s rethinking the fringe but one may never know. The “heels” look rather disgusted at all the love given to the “faces” and implode amongst themselves over it. Madison even goes to her own corner, which she sets up rather nicely.

Starting things off, whether Winter wanted to or not, is Mickie. Winter tried to peace out but she pulls her back in and tosses her by the hair across the mat. Then it’s on! Mickie is on top and is just pounding into Winter with purpose. She stands up and whips that belt off Winter, ready to use it for retribution. We all know how many times that’s been used on the champ in recent weeks. But the referee takes all the fun away, which brings Angelina in. She immediately drops Mickie with a kick to the abdomen and a side jaw drop against the shoulder. Very nice maneuver. This puts Mickie to the outside and Tessmacher invites herself in, going right at Angelina. But all that fire and moxy isn’t going to stand up against the former five time Knockouts champion. You need a lot more than that.

And it shows when A.Love overpowers her, slamming her back off the rebound. She slams her back into the corner and tags in Winter, adding cue to the double team. Meanwhile, Tara and Madison are screaming back at forth at each other like an old married couple. A flip over and Winter does her best to wear Tess down but the exchange leads to another corner and I become really confuse. Taz says he talked to Tessmacher about it earlier in the day. What exactly did you talk about? How many times she should pop her ass against Winter’s chin? I realize she is bodacious in that area but seriously. Seriously?! I can’t even right now. Asstastic. I shake my head.

Either way, Angelina Love tries to bust this up but she gets a forearm for her efforts. But the distraction proves enough that Winter manages a fisher-lights suplex of sorts, leading to the pin. Tessmacher has been eliminated. This sends Tara into the ring and she is on the attack. Laying hands to Winter then dropping her down with a stiff clothesline. Tara tosses her cap to the audience and goes in for the shimmy, OH! standing moonsault! A pin but only a two count. Are you serious? Yeah, he’s serious! I love the banter. It slays me. Tara takes Winter to the ropes and uses them as leverage, locking in a very nice tarantula submission from the outside. Her legs are wrapped around Winter’s arms and she’s got her locked in but this leaves her vulnerable. Madison takes notice and storms across the ring, slapping her with a baseball slider to the face. Tara drops like a sack of potatoes and Madison just rolls her into the ring. The momentum has shifted and Winter is back in control.

A pair of hammers to the back and Winter lifts Tara into a firewomans carry position. Angelina creeps into the ring and DAMN! She hits that Botox Injection kick and I cringed. But time doesn’t stop and Angelina knocks Mickie to the outside. Winter goes for the pin but Madison sneaks in, tosses Winter through the ropes and steals the pin on Tara. Morticia and Minion are not happy. They stalk her, cutting her in a corner of sorts while Mickie gets ready to set up for that Mick Kick. Madison attempts to feign innocence but this is Madison Rayne we’re talking about here. She turns around and SLAP! goes the foot against the jaw. So powerful, it caused Angelina to do a hair flip. I had to watch that part multiple times. Oh yes.

Mickie, ever so reluctant, goes in for the cover and Winter tells Angelina to just let it happen. She gets the three count and charges Winter like a bull. But the numbers game comes into effect and femme fatales are in control. The classic double team beatdown presses play and they’re on her like a pair of thugs. Finally, Winter picks Mickie up into that carry position, going for what they did to Tara but Angelina kicks….and misses. The champion counters into a roll-up on Winter but Minion gives her a kick to the back, breaking things up. Oh no, she says. Angelina tries to set Mickie up for that back knee drop but Mickie reverses, trying to set up for the jumping DDT. Winter isn’t having it. She pulls her back by the hair, dropping her down across her knee like a disciplined child. Then Winter presents Mickie to Angelina like a gift. Minion sets her up and OOF! drops her down like a ton of bricks.

…that awkward moment when you don’t know who should make the pin.

It looks like it’s going to be Angelina but as soon as she makes the move, Winter stops her. She tells her she had her turn and it’s her turn now. Alright?! Angelina does not see it that way and for the first time, we’re seeing tension between Morticia and Minion. But while they’re having this conversation, Mickie James is back on her feet. Winter tells A.Love to get her but it backfires. Mickie starts throwing elbows from the corner and jumps up, sending Winter across the ring. A neckbreaker drop to Angelina and she is out of this game! A behind roll-up from Winter but Mickie kicks out on the two. The crowd is going apeshit. I’m just saying. Now it is one-on-one with Winter and Mickie. Champ goes up for the DDT, jumps and executes. A pin on Winter and Mickie James has won this tag team effort. Neither Angelina or Winter can believe it, which brings heat between the two. Morticia looks to be blaming Minion what for losing and well…I guess we’ll find out.

Later in the show, we get a video reminder of this feud that has started between ODB and Velvet Sky. Again, another reminder of the hypocritical BS that comes out of ODB’s mouth. Stating “It isn’t who Velvet is, it’s what she stands for with the makeup and fake eyelashes.” Someone needs a mirror. That’s all I’m saying.

A flash to Velvet in the back and she’s talking to the camera, stating that most people think the beef with ODB is recent. But what people don’t know is that she’s been dealing with bullies and being pushed around her whole life. When she was a kid, she was always the runt of the litter. She’s always had to fight for everything she’s wanted to accomplish, Impact Wrestling is no different. She says that Jacqueline and ODB want to come in and “prey on the weak” but she isn’t as weak as she once was. I can definitely agree with that but it’s my opinion. She says that next week’s match is very important for her.

Next week, she’ll be facing Jackie and ODB in a handicap match, two-on-one. The stipualation being, if Velvet beats them and she feels that she will, they are no longer allowed back in Impact Wrestling. And she really, really hopes that since they had that woman to woman agreement, she hopes they live up to their end of the bargain after she beats them. She’s had it. She’s done. No more pushing Velvet around. She’s starting a new chapter and she’s done being the prey, the weak. She’s done with it and she’s going to do something about it. Next week. Oh boy.

Thoughts: I loved this match. The spots in this match were incredible and I can’t even describe that lifted bicycle kick. The baseball slide to the face? Loved it. Definite awesome showing from the Knockouts this week. I’m dying to see if this tension between Angelina and Winter becomes stronger. I know some of you are all dying to see them implode on one another. I think it will come down to jealousy. Angelina is a strong competitor, former champion and I think she’ll see it as Winter trying to hog her spotlight. But we never know until it happens. We’ve got a couple of great weeks ahead of us so until that time next week, my lovies! xoxo

What did you guys think about this week’s Impact? Tell me about it!

Detailed Results & Pictures from ACW Queen of Queens Tournament

Posted on 28 June 2011 by FrontRowFanatics.com Auto Update

Anarchy Championship Wrestling (ACW) has been a well-growing wrestling promotion that the viewers from not only in the state of Texas, but in the entire world. Fans come from all over the U.S. to see what they get their money’s worth in the first place, good, intense, pure wrestling from the Anarchist. One show in particular is what got fans attach to ACW more than any other show – The American Joshis Queen of Queens Tournament. ACW has had big successes over the course of their existence, including dream matches that people cannot get elsewhere, and mostly the MOST VIOLENT matches a fan would seek their teeth into. But the biggest success (to me and everybody else) that makes ACW for what is a strong promotion in the United States – THEIR WOMEN.

ACW is one of the promotions that is mostly male-dominated, to have a strong, pound for pound women’s division, a division that is 100% contradictory to what you see on television now a days. These girls aren’t look upon as women wrestlers; they are looked upon as WRESTLERS. In other words, they are treated as equals to the males in the ring, and willing to get in the ring with the best of the men. The division started in 2007 with two individuals, Rachel Summerlyn and Mickie Knuckles. Both women known for their Deathmatches; they go through thumbtacks and broken glass to see who the better woman is. Summerlyn then moved on from Knuckles, and feuded with other wrestlers like Andy Dalton (and her brutal Deathmatch with him in 2008, which I recommend watching) and Daffney. To fast forward to today, other women have stepped up to contribute to the American Joshi era in ACW: Jessica James/Lady Poison, Athena, Amanda Fox, Lillie Mae, and others. Even big names in women’s wrestling help contribute to this division as well: Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze, MsChif, Portia Perez, Serena Deeb, etc. And for one night of every year, ACW grants the girls a one-night tournament to not only show who the best woman of thee night is, but to honor the sport that is of women’s wrestling in the Queen of Queens Tournament. And this year’s Queen of Queens is no different from the past Queen of Queens.

The 3rd Annual American Joshi Queen of Queens kicked off with ACW ring announcer Barry Stewart calling out the 8 participants in this years Queen of Queens – Rachel Summerlyn, Amanda Fox, Lillie Mae, Mia Yim, Athena, Christina Von Eerie, Serena Deeb (who came face to face with Amanda Fox), and last years (2010) Queen of Queens winner Portia Perez. Portia’s entrance was delayed until she appeared in street clothes and a wrench, and Super Electro with her. Perez has now evolved into a creepier, vindictive, gloomy, and possessed individual than ever before. No more Canadian Ninja in ACW. As the Joshis line up for a photo op, Portia immediately struck Lillie Mae in the nose with that wrench she carried, which stated a brief brawl with the Joshis until Anarchists (ACW wrestlers) separated Perez from the girls. After things all got settled, everybody left the ring, except Portia Perez and Mia Yim, which triggered the start of 2011 Queen of Queens Tournament.

1. 1st Round Match – Mia Yim vs. Portia Perez

Winner via submission with Crossface – Portia Perez. A decent opening match. Mia Yim looks stunning in person. She impressed in her Texas debut. Just wish she did more in this match. Yim almost got the win with a guillotine submission. But as soon as Yim attempted a high risk move off the top rope, Perez structed her in the stomach with the wrench, with triggered Perez for her Crossface for the win, and advance to the semi-finals, eliminating the Blaisian Barbie (BTW Diva-Dirt, did you forget to tell Mia that ACW is a No Barbie Zone? Just saying…I digress.)

2. 1st Round Match – ACW Tag Team Champion Rachel Summerlyn vs. Christina Von Eerie

Winner via Gory Bomb – Rachel Summerlyn. A brutal back and forth match between these two, mostly taken to the floor outside the ring. Things got technical in the beginning (along with Chirstina’s “OI!” chants), then things got brutal. Moments in the match include when Von Eerie poured beer on Summerlyn, and also Von Eerie and Summerlyn brought chairs, sat down and had a strike out with each other. Christina is very over with the crowd, and fits the ACW mold very well.

The next match was suppose to be Athena vs. Lillie Mae, but due to the wrench strike in the nose Portia Perez gave Lillie at the top of the show, see was pulled from the tournament. (Damn you, Portia Perez). Athena came out for her match (sporting new orange gear, and a new “Team Athena” T-Shirt), then ACW founder Darin Childs came out to let the Wrestling Goddess know that Athena will then face Angel Blue in the first round match.

3. 1st Round Match – “The Wrestling Goddess” Athena vs. Angel Blue

Winner via Top Rope Double Knees – Athena. This match was pretty much one-sided, in favor of Athena. Angel Blue had an OK showing, but not enough to put away the Goddess of Wrestling. Athena’s athleticism…need I say more?

Next up is the most hyped up match in the tournament:

4. 1st Round Match – “Five-Star” Amanda Fox vs. Serena Deeb

Amanda wasted no time making a statement in the Joshi Division, by pinning Serena in the 6 Joshi Scramble at the December show last year. Since then Fox declared herself to be Serena Deeb’s worst nightmare. Let’s see if the 19-year-old an pull it the second time, or will Serena take Fox to school in wrestling.

Beginning of the match Amanda spat on Serena, which triggered a chase off. Then Highroller Hayze showed up to defend Fox. Things got extremely technical when the girls got back in.

Winner via roll-up – Amanda Fox. I can sum this match up in five words – MATCH OF THE YEAR CANDIDATE! Words can’t describe who awesome this match is. The stuff this 19-year-old can do is mind boggling, that you got to see it to believe it. Fox took a vicious spear from Serena on the turnbuckle steel corner from the top ring apron. All I can say is Amanda Fox solidified herself as a “ONE TO WATCH”.

After the match, Serena cut a promo, stating that though Amanda got the win, she made a huge mistake messing with her, and that she will be back to ACW, and make Amanda Fox’s night for the worse.

The tournament takes a break for now, which leads to Barry introducing someone he is happy to see again – DAFFNEY!!

Fans popped big for her, as I did as well. Daff got on the mic stating that it is good to be home. But had a huge problem with a certain someone that has recently been disrespecting the women of the Joshi division. That person was JT Lamotta. She asked for Lamotta to get down to the ring and confront her. Lamotta comes down to the ring, has some verbal words for Daffney and the other Joshis he faced, but Daffney isn’t scared of him and found one person that can take him on – ACW American Joshi Champion Lady Poison! OOOHHHH, IT’S ON NOW!!!!

5. Non-Tournament Match – ACW American Joshi Champion Lady Poison vs. “The Mind of Wrestling” JT Lamotta

Winner via Poison Kiss – Lady Poison. After the match, Poison and Daffney hugged and left the ring. JT is a fool for messing with the Joshis. Great match between the two. Lady Poison is one creepy individual.

Next up is the semi-finals of the Queen of Queens Tournament.

6. Semi-Final Match – Rachel Summerlyn vs. Portia Perez

Winner via submission with the Texas Cloverleaf – Rachel Summerlyn. The match was very psychological. Both girls came out, with no smile for Summerlyn, and these two went back and forth. Very slow and methodical these two where. Two shocking moments in this match – 1.) Rachel busting out a springboard moonsault, and my jaw dropped. Though she missed, it looked beautiful. Perez landed two Superkicks to Summerlyn, but Rachel kicked out. Now for number 2.) As Portia went for the wrench, Super Electro came in and posted his foot on the wrench, only to then unmask himself to be ROBERT EVANS! Fans popped big for his special appereance. For those who don’t know the ACW storyline, Evans and Perez were once in love, but Perez broke his heart but Superkicking him. So in retribution, the Excellence of Excellence return and planted Portia with a Tombstone Styles Clash. After he left, Rachel hits Best of Both Worlds (her fisherman neckbreaker), followed by her Texas Cloverleaf for the submission win and her first shot at the finals of the tournament. Thus dethroning Perez from retaining her title as Queen of Queens. “F*** YOU, PORTIA!!” chants came once Perez left.

7. Semi-Final Match – “Five Star” Amanda Fox vs. “The Wrestling Goddess” Athena

Winner via Submission – Athena. Another great match from two up and comers in the world of wrestling. Athena stated that “THIS IS MY HOUSE!!”, and me having my mark out moment responded “TEAM ATHENA, B****ES!!” Fox kick out of Athena’s top rope double knees (which put away Angel Blue in the first round). She also attempted the top rope stunner, but Fox saw it coming and counter it into a vicious German Suplex. The Goddess got Fox in this very creative submission, trapping both arms of Fox and hosting her leg on the back of Amanda’s head, tapped out Fox, and move on to the finals to face her number one hussie, Rachel Summerlyn. (Could someone get me a dictioNERD? What does hussie mean?) She then waved her brand new T-Shirt claiming “Team Athena” all the way.

Fast-forwarding two incredible men’s matches (one of which involves my homeboy “Showtime” Scott Summers spearing a chick from the Takeover), we get to the Finals of the American Joshi Queen of Queens Tournament between rivals Rachel Summerlyn and Athena. This is the rematch from their EPIC 10,000 Thumbtacks Match from Guilty By Association 5 (I recommend people to comp that DVD at SmartMarkVideo.com). Also for those who didn’t know, Athena cost Rachel her match with JT Lamotta at the last show. So this is redemption for Mrs. Summerlyn. Time to see who takes the title of 2011 ACW Queen of Queens.

8. Final Round Match – Rachel Summerlyn vs. Athena

The crowd was split between these two, and you can tell the beef these two got for each other. This match was a straight-up fight. Athena and Rachel pulled no punches against each other. Athena hit a flurry of roundhouse kicks on Summerlyn (about 10 of them). Rachel busted 2 Gory Bombs on the Goddess in the ring. After the two exchanged submissions, they took it to the floor, ACW JOSHI STYLE! Athena busted a headscissors, with Rachel’s head hitting the hard carpet. Rachel then grab a stick to stab Athena, but Athena block it and said “Girl you crazy!”. Athena fought Rachel off and grabbed a chair and attempt a DDT on the chair, but Summerlyn countered to the Best of Both Worlds on the chair. After seconds of recuperation, the head back to the ring for some back and forth, then busted a devastating Super Brainbuster from the top rope. Both ladies giving it their all. Athena then throws Rachel out of the ring, but then Rachel fights back, and from out of nowhere, another Gory Bomb on the hard carpet floor! Rachel rolls backwards and applies the Texas Cloverleaf, and forces the Goddess to give it up.

Winner via submission, and the 2011 ACW American Joshi Queen of Queens – Rachel Summerlyn!

After the match, Jessica James came out and hugged all over Rachel in celebration, as Ms.ACW has accomplished her goal and became the 2011 ACW Queen of Queens Champion. Rachel had an emotional promo after the match (I almost shed a tear, myself), pretty much thanking everybody for her support, Jessica for being an EGG-celent tag partner, Daffney for being a good mentor, and to all the ACW fans who supported her from day one. With this moment, and a hug from Rachel Summerlyn, the 2011 American Joshi Queen of Queens is a rap.

Final Thoughts: Just like the previous two tournaments, this year’s was no different. This will go down as one of my favorite shows of the year. Just the storyline, the wrestling, the excitement, and the emotion only are why people need to not only check this DVD out, but to come to Texas to check out this amazing art of the sport in Anarchy Championship Wrestling. Believe me, there are people that came from another state and/or country just to see this one show, and it’s an honor for ACW to get some international support. Yes, there where no Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze, MsChif at this years show, but ACW proves that you don’t have to rely on big names to get a product over. This year’s tourney was all about the younger girls, and man, did they represent tonight. Every participant showed out what they are capable of (except for Lillie Mae, who didn’t get to compete. Blame Portia for that.) Angel Blue was an acceptable replacement to bow down for the Goddess. Mia Yim was no slore at this show. Christina Von Eerie’s uniqueness will get her places, and she feels right at home at ACW. Serena is incredible! Such a sweet, humble person in real life, but when she wrestles, she wrestles like the best. I told this to her that since leaving World Wrestling Entertainment , she has had one of the best careers in wrestling. I was an horror seeing Daffney again. She’s in my prayers for that things will go well with her law suit. Portia’s character, as mentioned earlier, has evolved into a more cunning, creepy, spiteful, vindictive individual. And that’s what’s missing in a heel, now a days. But karma bit Portia in the ass and, as R-Truth (Ron Killings) says it, she got got by Robert Evans. Lady Poison made the Joshis, and Daffney, proud but shutting up JT Lamotta.

And lastly, my MVPs for the tournament. First off, Athena…Athena…Athena…two words – “Team Athena!”…and I thank you. But all seriousness, Athena continues to dominate wherever she goes. She took out some men at the last show, made great impressions at SHIMMER and WSU, and now solidifies herself as one of the top up-and-coming stars to date. Next is Amanda Fox. My god, this girl can go! She’s under 2 years in the business and she’s 19 years old, and she delivered the best match of that entire show, with Serena. Amanda is, to me and others, the female Bryan Danielson, because she’s a great technician in the ring and her appeal is Danielson inspired, as well. She, this year, is what Athena had last year, as far as being unknown to the fans and once buying the Queen of Queens DVD, people start taking more notice of talent. Athena hanged with a top tier MsChif last year, and this year Amanda hanged with top tier Serena Deeb. Now people will take notice of “Five Star” Amanda Fox. And finally, this year’s Queen of Queens, Rachel Summerlyn. Out of all the Joshis in ACW, no one has grown more then the first lady of ACW, herself. To debut in deathmatches, to wrestle the first women’s match in ACW, to taking such harsh criticism in first SHIMMER impression, Rachel has grown into one of the most fun, caring, and rough-n-tough women in the art of wrestling. Despite all the punishment she goes through, she still lives happy a la Hiroyo Matsumoto. This was her third Queen of Queens Tournament, and after 3 attempts, she’s finally claim her throne. Her emotional speech at the end was just amazing, and it showed that it was a hard road for Mrs. Summerlyn to get that trophy, as she is in the best shape of her life, and more agile than before. Her charisma, personality, stamina, and toughness will get her far in the business. And for that, I congratulate my fellow Texan Rachel Summerlyn on becoming the 2011 ACW American Joshi Queen of Queens! You deserve it, girl.
