BREAKING NEWS – Goldberg to Impact Wrestling

Posted on 21 May 2011 by SnowMan Jones

Eric Bischoff just released a video on his Twitter account.  It featured him flying in a helicopter over New York city with Bill Goldberg.  Bischoff only stated, “hmmm.”   This appears to be an intentional tease of Goldberg in Impact Wrestling!

In previous posts, Bischoff stated that he was in New York for a “very important meeting.”

Stroker’s Closes – The Ropes Come Down for ASW

Posted on 21 May 2011 by SnowMan Jones

The Ropes Come Down in Tampa

In the photo above you see The Don Vinnie D, Bobby Fonta, Jordan O’Neal, Super Grover, and Jason Davis taking the All Stars Wrestling of Florida ring down. The ring, which is owned by Nick Major, was a staple on Friday nights in Tampa for the past several years. However, it came down for what might be the last time just weeks ago after ASW’s last Full Throttle Friday event.

Nobody expected it to happen, but Stroker’s Billiards closed its doors the following week, and ASW was without a home. Despite its popularity and relative internet fame, ASW’s Friday events weren’t enough to save Stroker’s from what seems to be financial struggles. Furthermore, nobody knows if Stroker’s in Tampa will reopen its doors anytime soon. Check out www.aswflorida.com for the latest details about ASW.

Macho Man Randy Savage Dies In Car Accident

29 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

Macho Man Randy Savage — one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time — died today in a car accident in Tampa, Florida … TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke with Randy’s brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM … and lost control of his vehicle.

Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.

Savage was 58.

Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase “Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh.”

UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ … Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median … through oncoming traffic … and “collided head-on with a tree.”

Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.

Savage’s wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision — but survived with “minor injuries.” She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.

According to officials, Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Cops say alcohol was NOT a factor.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

Check out this large gallery of the best Randy Orton wallpaper images of all time!

Following his departure from Legacy, Orton faced Jack Swagger (Jacob Jager) for the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules in April, however, he was unsuccessful in defeating Swagger.[147] After being speared by Edge (Adam Copeland), resulting in Orton losing a number one contender’s match for the World Wrestling Entertainment Championship, on the World Wrestling Entertainment Draft episode of Raw,[148] he faced Edge (Adam Copeland) at the Over the Limit pay-per-view, but separated his right shoulder during the match, which concluded in a double countout.[149] At Fatal 4-Way in June, Orton competed in a fatal four-way match for the World Wrestling Entertainment Championship against John Cena, Sheamus (Stephen Farrelly) and Edge (Adam Copeland) but came up short.[150] On the July 19 episode of Raw, he won a number one contender’s match against Edge (Adam Copeland) and Chris Jericho giving him a match against Sheamus (Stephen Farrelly) at SummerSlam.[151] At the event, Sheamus (Stephen Farrelly) was disqualified for bringing a steel chair into the match giving Orton the victory, however, not the title.[152] Immediately afterwards Orton took the steel chair and hit Sheamus (Stephen Farrelly) with it and gave him an RKO. Orton defeated John Cena, Chris Jericho, Wade Barrett, Edge (Adam Copeland) and Sheamus (Stephen Farrelly) in a Six-Pack Challenge Elimination Match to become World Wrestling Entertainment Champion for the sixth time at Night of Champions.[153] After defending his title against Sheamus (Stephen Farrelly) at Hell in a Cell,[154] Orton feuded with Wade Barrett, who attempted to use John Cena to help capture Orton’s championship. After successfully defending his title against Barrett at Bragging Rights and Survivor Series,[155][156] Orton defeated Barrett again on the November 22 episode of Raw, only to lose his title immediately afterwards to The Miz, who cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.[157] Orton failed to recapture the title after losing a Tables match to The Miz at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view[158] and again in a singles match at the Royal Rumble in January 2011 after interference from CM Punk.[159] The following month at the Elimination Chamber event Orton participated in the Raw Elimination Chamber match but was unsuccessful in winning.[160]

During the 2011 World Wrestling Entertainment Draft on the April 25 episode of Raw, Orton was drafted to the SmackDown brand.[161] At the May 3 tapings of SmackDown, Orton defeated Christian to win his second World Heavyweight Championship.[9][1

Simon Sez was selected as #2 as former champion and for his outstanding record in 2011.
John Allen was #4 because of his recent matches. He has been dominant.
Kennedy Kendrick made a great Elite champion in 2011. He breaks into the top 5.

In 2008, Evans signed a World Wrestling Entertainment contract and was assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling (Florida Championship Wrestling), a World Wrestling Entertainment developmental territory. In Florida Championship Wrestling, he began wrestling under the ring name Tyrone Jones.[1] In May, he feuded with Atlas DaBone.[17] Throughout June and July, he faced wrestlers including Kevin Kiley, Jr. and TJ Wilson, and on July 21, he lost a dark match to Jamie Noble on July 21 prior to Raw.[1][17] In September he gained Byron Saxton as a manager, and changed his ring name to Tyson Tarver.[17] He became part of The Saxton Conglomerate, a faction composed of Tarver, Black Pain, Stu Sanders and led by Byron Saxton. Tarver had his first match with the Conglomerate on October 30, where he, Pain and Sanders lost to Johnny Prime, Kafu and Sinn Bowdee.[17] Prime soon began feuding with the Conglomerate, and on November 20, Tarver lost to him in a singles match.[17] On December 18, Tarver and Sanders lost to Prime and Kaleb O’Neal.[17]

In 2009, Evans changed his ring name to ‘Michael Tarver’.[18] He continued competing in Florida Championship Wrestling throughout the remainder of 2009, facing wrestlers including Wes Brisco and Skip Sheffield, with whom he feuded in November 2009.[18] In December, Tarver became associated with Heath Slater (Heath Miller), interfering in Slater’s matches and accompanying him to the ring.[18] The following month, Tarver began a feud with Titus O’Neil. After twice interrupting O’Neil, Tarver defeated him in a singles match on February 18.[18]

Exclusive Pre-Tough Enough Pictures of Andy Leavine from FCW

Posted on 16 May 2011 by SnowMan Jones

Before this season on Tough Enough, Florida Championship Wrestling held “try outs” for the show. The contestants even got some microphone time. In the group that participated on 1-6-2011 in Tampa, only Andy Levine made it to television. You can see him in the pictures below.

This 6’5″ giant hails from Brooksville, Florida where he had four years of high school varsity wrestling experience with a record of over 90 wins. The 23-year-old former football player has a mere six months of independent wrestling experience. Starting over 40 games as an offensive lineman for Florida International University, Andy holds the school’s power clean record of 365 lbs. After FIU, he was a priority free agent with the Miami Dolphins and attended mini-camps, before hanging up his cleats to pursue his dream to entertain in the ring.

Andy wants to be a World Wrestling Entertainment Superstar so he can be a part of a great organization based on hard work, integrity, and respect. He currently resides in Tampa, Florida with his wife Lauren and his daughter. The family expects a new addition, a boy, in Spring 2011.
