Hurley Jacks Blizzard, Biff New CWE Champ

Posted on 14 February 2011 by Marcus_Pitt

The old joke use to be that Irishmen liked to fight and have a good drink. Irish Jack Hurley proved half of this theory Saturday night as he interjected himself into a three way contest for the CWE Heavyweight Championship and a very hungry Biff Slater took advantage of the situation. Biff Slater is now the new CWE Heavyweight Champion and all of this is due to circumstances that all came together to spell defeat for “Killer” Kyle Blizzard.

Last month the match was set up with Q T Marshall that Blizzard would defend his title against “Mr. Irresistable” in a tables match this Saturday at University High School in Orange City. Due to other commitments, Q T Marshall had to back out of the match and CWE came up with a replacement match featuring Blizzard defending his title against Biff Slater and “Hotshot” Mike Reed. The match would be contested in a Three Way Dance inwhich all three men would be in the ring at the same time. The first man to pin one of the other contestants would be declared the CWE Champion. This could mean that Blizzard could lose the title without even being pinned.

Kyle Blizzard entered the ring to talk to the crowd and proclaim that he would be victorious once more against his two opponents. “Irish” Jack Hurley came out to the ring and talked to the crowd about his last match with Blizzard inwhich The “Killer” dumped him on his neck and injured the Irishman from Boston. Hurley has been injured for six months and this is why he has not been wrestling for CWE. He made it a point that he will get his revenge and it could be tonight or it could be in the near future. He wanted Blizzrd to know that he will seek his revenge.

The match started later this evening with Reed and Biff keeping the champion out of the ring. This left Biff and Reed to fight it out during the first five minutes of the match. Blizzard did enter the ring and mounted his own attack and during the malee, the referee was knocked down to the ground and hurt. This was Hurleys chance for revenge as he entered the ring and attacked Blizzard. This left all three men, the and the ref laying on the mat and Hurley walks back to the dressing room feeling comfortable that his revenge was complete.

Slater regained his senses first and noticed that his opponents were both on the mat. Slater rolls over and pins Mike Reed and Biff Slater was now the new CWE Heavyweight Champion. Blizzard arose and realized what has just transpired and in a sportmanship jesture, walks over and shakes The Biff’s hand and walks out of the ring. A new era begins in CWE with a new champion and who knows how long this giant of a man can hold on to the title. Blizzard just might have something to say at the end of the day.

The CWE Tristan Gallagher Benefit Show on January 29th

The CWE Tristan Gallagher Benefit Show on January 29th

We at CWE would like to thank everyone for coming out and contributing this very important show. All proceeds did go to Tristan Gallagher’s 10 year old son and it was a success. Besides all the money that was raised in the event, he also received a brand new bike that was donated by Deland Cycles. This is a case when the cause was more important than the show.

Commissioner Torres came out and welcomed the crowd to this event. He wanted to thank everyone for coming out and the wrestlers for dedicating their time to this cause.

Sean LaFlash, the announcer for IWA Royalty, came out and interrupted Torres and announced the IWA was in the house and that Q T Marshall wanted a match with the Champion “Killer” Kyle Blizzard. Torres makes the comment that Marshall will have his match but it would be a tag match featuring Blizzard and Biff Slater taking on Q T Marshall and Mike Reed.

Q T Marshall, Mike Reed, Eddie Graves, and London Vice entered the ring. Q T Marshall takes over the mike and reminded Torres of the last time they were in the ring like this in Deland. Torres had heard enough and punched Marshall in the face. The IWA Royalty attacked Torres and was pummeling him when Kyle Blizzard and the locker room came to his rescue.

The big announcement was that Blizzard would defend his title against Marshall on February 12th at University High School in Orange City.

The first match saw Tommy Tan Jovi squashed by the veteran Alex Porteau. He delivered a “Power Bomb” from Hell for the win.

The second match was a tag team match that pitted Danny Demento and Justin Cage against the team of Rico Suave’ and Don Maximo. The match was okay and pitted two equally talented teams. In the end, Suave’ and Maximo lost to Demento and Cage.

The third match could have been the sleeper match of the night. The Latin Assassins comprised of Gus Money and Mike Cruz took on The Noryicanz. Two very quick talented teams that gave it all that they had. Cruz and Money were too much in the end with their experience. The Latin Assassins wins this match.

The fourth match was good featuring Teigan James and D. Lee. Lee is relatively new to the sport but is picking up experience very quickly. D. Lee’s was just too much for James tonight and he lost to Lee from a dive off the top rope.

Match five started out with a giant question mark. Who was going to wrestle for the injured Johnny Armani with Eddie Graves and defend their tag team championships? The IWA manager Mastermind was out in the ring with Eddie Graves and Sean Laflash. They decided to bring out Jason Static from Total Nonstop Wrestling’s Team Jarrett. It was official that IWA Royalty would take on The Uprising.

The match was very good, as both teams seemed rather equal to each other. LaFlash was constantly interrupting the match on the mike and caused the head referee Stiffler to eject LaFlash from ringside to the delight of the crowd.

In the end of the match, IWA outsmarted and defeated the Uprising by splitting the team up and IWA were able to control the match. IWA Royalty wins and retains the belts.

Match six was very good till the end as London Vice with his manager The Mastermind defending his Light Heavyweight Title against the young Rocky Santiago.. Dr. Technico sat down by the announce tables to watch what was going on. Somewhere during the match, The Mastermind was able to get a hold of a hockey stick. The Mastermind tried to sneak the hockey stick to Vice and he used it and the referee saw it. Rocky Santiago wins by disqualification over London Vice but Vice keeps the belt. Dr. Technico than waffled the Mastermind in the face.

Match seven had LaFlash coming out and chiding the crowd. The four wrestlers were scheduled for a no disqualification match so it ends up that all four wrestlers were fighting from everywhere in the gym. The referee finally restores order and orders the bell to be rung after about ten minutes of mayhem throughout the ring.

Mike Reed and Q T Marshall kept the Biff inside of the ring while the nervous Blizzard remained outside waiting to be tagged. Excellent double team tag skills were used by the IWA contingent as they beat down the Biff unmercifully.

Biff was able to fight himself away from the enemy corner and tag the very excited champ. Kyle was able to attack and sustain the offensive and finally Blizzard and Slater were able to pin Reed and Q T for the big win. The IWA Roayalty again interfered in the match and Dr. Technico with the help of Blizzard and Slater were able to fight off the enemy as the crowd cheered on.

Last night was a success and done for a good cause. We express our gratitude to everyone who did contribute to this young mans future. We hope that each and everyone who was present did have a good time and to remember that we will be back at the University High School on February 12th and in Orlando on the 19th. Further information will be provided in the next couple of days.

Abraham Washington Ends Feud With Byron Saxton

Abraham Washington

Florida Championship Wrestling’s Byron Saxton / Abraham Washington Feud
by SnowMan Jones of www.Wrestling911.com

It started when Byron laid Abraham out with a foreign object  in the center of the ring a few months ago.  That led to Abraham jumping Byron in the locker room, and knocking him out with a roll of quarters.

Florida Championship Wrestling Commissioner Maxine then suspended Abraham for the behind-the-scenes attack.  Abraham was forced out of the ring during the suspension, and watched as a ringside announcer as Byron cheated his way to the top of Florida Championship Wrestling.

At the exact second Abraham was relieved from suspension, he ran from the announcer’s table to the back, where he pulled Byron into the ring and beat him within an inch of his life.  This led to a televised match between Byton and Abraham on Florida Championship Wrestling television (1-13-2011).

The match was a hard hitting one that went back and forth.  Abraham beat Byron with a clean victory following an “In Ya’ Face” elbow then neckbreaker.

Full Throttle Friday Night Jan 14

Posted on 15 January 2011 by Marcus_Pitt

by OWWRadioGuru on January 15th, 2011, 12:14 am

Friday Jan 14, 2011 saw ASW Florida host their weekly “Full Throttle Friday” event at Strokers Billiards, 11236 W. Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa, Florida.

Before the opening match, FXE’s Biff Slater joined ASW Chain Reaction’s Sean LaFlash in the ring. Slater was scheduled to compete against ASW Heavyweight champion Aaron Kanye Epic. Biff called out Commissioner Don Vinnie who told Slater that Epic was out of town. Slater shot on the champion saying he was at a party kissing up to another promoter’s ass. The Commissioner didn’t deny the comments but said tonight Slater needed to focus on his opponent Eddie Taurus.

(1) Paradox defeated Satan’s Disciple.
This was the Disciple’s ASW debut and he was booked against the enigma wrapped in a riddle. The Disciple wasted no time in attacking his larger opponent, taking him down to the mat. The Disciple resorted into choking along the ropes and using the tassels on Paradox’s mask as a weapon. When he wasn’t doing that the Disciple was tossing Paradox out to ringside. The Disciple went to end things but missed a second rope legdrop. This allowed Paradox to recover and hit an Emeral Frosion to win.
As soon as the match ended Roman Wright came to ringside and confronted the fans on them cheering Paradox. Wright claimed it was people like Paradox that were ruining ASW. He decided he would change things one wrestler at a time, starting with jumping and laying out Paradox.

(2) ASW Florida Tag Team champions the Latin Assassins of the FXE (“Pretty Boy” Gu$ Money & “Prodigy” Mike Cruz) & Don Maximo defeated The NuYoRicans (Ramos, Rivera & D. Lee)
The FXE picked up where they left off in their last encounter with the NYR, kicking the crap out of them. That ended when Ramos distracted the referee and it allowed Lee to chop block Maximo. But the NYR offense was stopped by a double suplex from Maximo who tagged out Money. Money was taking it to Rivera until he was grabbed on the ropes by Ramos who got Money’s attention long enough to allow Rivera to get a cheap shot. The NYR took turns beating down Money for several moments. Money held off defeat long enough to hit Rivera with a swinging neckbreaker that allowed him to tag out to Cruz as Ramos tagged back in. The two men hit each other with several high impact moves until all six men got involved. Maximo laid out Ramos & Rivera with a double chokeslam. That left D. Lee alone to hit with a Swanton from Cruz and a Frog Splash by Money for the FXE victory. After the match a heated shouting match between Lee and Ramos broke out that had to be broken up by ASW security.

The self professed ASW Florida Elite champion Grover made his way out to ringside to speak with Sean LaFlash. The fans chanted Bobby Fonta’s name as Grover stood in the ring. Grover said Fonta was not here to take the championship belt back from him and he was ready for a fight. Commissioner Don Vincent entered the ring and insisted Grover surrender the championship belt since it was ASW property. Grover said he wanted someone to take it from him physically, so Don Vinnie called for a challenger. Grover got Damien Angel.

(3) Damien Angel defeated Grover.
This was a different Grover then the fans were used to, he was aggressive and he bent the rules to the limit. Angel fought back with several body shots that sent Grover to the floor to reconfigure his plan of action. Angel got tired of waiting so he went after Grover with chest chops and punches before tossing Grover back in the ring. Angel went for a waistlock but was maneuvered into a corner face first by Grover. Grover went on the attack using the ropes to choke out Angel and other chicanery. Grover’s ego came out with each successfully delivered move. Grover went for the submission win but Angel fought to his feet and hit Grover with a leg lariat. Angel hit a back suplex for two and followed with a TKO for three.

After the match Angel took the house mic and told Don Vinnie he deserved a Florida Elite championship match no matter who was carrying the gold. Don Vinnie said he was willing to sign that match but then Kennedy Kendrick and Camey made their way to ringside. Kendrick said he was happy for Angel and his victory. Kendrick said last week he defeated the rightful champion last week and he deserved the title shot. As Don Vinnie entered the ring to break things up, Grover scooped up the championship belt and exited stage right. Commissioner Don Vinnie went after Grover but claimed Grover slid out the back door. He set next week Grover vs. Damien Angel vs. Kendrick vs. Bobby Fonta for the championship. He also announced ASW would be holding a Starlet’s match between Ferrari and Jelena.

(4) Biff Slater of the FXE defeated “The Infamous” Eddie Taurus of the Uprising.
Taurus jumped Slater during the introductions and it was on. Slater fought back with chest chops and some punches. Taurus slid to the floor but Slater followed to trade punches and kicks. Finally the action came back to the ring but Taurus took a chance only to miss a slingshot tope’. Slater dragged Taurus back to the ring to inflict punishment on the ribs and back. Taurus used a low blow to get control back and he kept it with illegal chokes and other bodyshots. Slater fought back with bodyshots of his own including a mafia kick for two. Taurus fought out of a spinebuster and hit Slater with two superkicks but he got only two. Taurus tagged Slater with two kicks to the thigh but Slater caught Taurus’ third attempt and he hit a T-Bone suplex for two. Slater hit two suplexes and a backbreaker for two. Taurus fought back with a second rope elbow to Slater’s chest followed by a Dynamite Kid headbutt for two. Both men went to end the other but it was Taurus who hit a kick only to be levelled by a Slater shoulder tackle. That led to Slater hitting the Biff Bomb or Spinebuster to earn the hard fought victory. After the match Slater said despite the win he wanted Aaron Kanye Epic and the ASW Heavyweight championship.

(5) “The Emerald Emperor” Simon Sez defeated “The Essential” Eric Cooper.
This match was scheduled for last week but due to outside interference became a tag team match. Commissioner Don Vinnie immediately booked this rematch to try and settle the score. The main problem early on was both men verbally were shredding into each other instead of beating on each other physically. Finally the talking ended and the fighting began with pushing and slaps to the face. Sez was the aggressor with punches and kicks that made Cooper slide to the floor. When Cooper did come back to the ring his crotch met the middle rope and Sez’s boot. Cooper slid to the floor and kept the referee’s focus on him long enough that Eddie Taurus could hit that Sez in the ribs with a folding chair. Cooper immediately went to work on the injured area with furious anger. Cooper took the match to the mat with a chinlock submission but Sez fought to his feet only to be knocked back down by an elbow to his face. Once again the match went to the floor and Cooper took it to Sez only to have a beverage tossed in his face. Cooper didn’t take kindly to that and poked Sez in the eyes before coming back into the ring only to collide mid ring with Sez. Both men fought to their feet but it was Sez who was the aggressor with several bodyshots and several two count pin attempts. Sez hit Cooper in the head with several knee strikes only to have his eyes raked and Cooper hit Sez with a spinebuster. Cooper stood waiting for Sez to get to his feet but he opted to his rolling cannon ball like move to the corner. Cooper went to finish off Sez but Sez countered into an STO followed by the Sez Express for two!! Sez hit Cooper with a second Sez Express to get the victory but not necessarily end the war.

(6) Alex Decay defeated Josh Rayne of the Misled Youth (w/Jude McKenzie.)
This was another step in Decay’s revenge on the group he felt disrespected him by ejecting him into the cold. Last week Decay took out Shawn Prime and was ready for Rayne. But Rayne was ready for Decay attacking him at the bell with kicks to the head. Decay fought back only to end up on the floor being beaten down by McKenzie as Rayne occupied the official. Rayne stayed on the attack but Decay fought back hitting a missile dropkick for two. Decay began taunting McKenzie as he beat on Rayne. Rayne fought back with a flip kick to Decay’s head and a double knee to the chest as Decay went to counter the move. Decay was sent to the floor and Rayne followed with a suicide tope’. The action came back to the ring where Rayne scored a two count pin attempt. But he let Decay get back to his feet and it cost him as Decay hit him with a superkick. Decay had Rayne pinned but McKenzie slid in and pulled Decay off his charge. Decay again had Rayne pinned he went after McKenzie who was on the ropes. Rayne went for his double knee move but Decay countered into a DVD like hold to win. But before the referee could raise decay’s hand in victory, McKenzie hit Decay laying him out. McKenzie went and found a dog collar chain which he used to choke out Decay as ASW security tried to stop the carnage.

(7) The Highwaymen (Butch Long & Marc Mandrake w/Ferrari & Donnie York) defeated the Worlds Sexiest Tag Team (“Weapon of Mass Satisfaction” London Vice and “Action Tsunami” Johnny Armani.)
Having taken last week off the Highwaymen had some aggression built up and they took it out on their opponents for several minutes. That ended when Mandrake ended up isolated from Long via some underhanded tactics. Long entered the ring to even things up as he raked Vice’s eyes on the top rope. Mandrake got back on the offensive with a standing suplex for two. The Highwaymen had full control over Vice when Long missed the mark on a double team move and Armani hit him with a clothesline. Armani finally tagged in letting Vice get his wind back. This led to Long being double teamed on several occasions as his partner kept getting the referee’s attention by entering the ring illegally. Long fought off defeat several times and after countering an Armani move with one of his own, he tagged in the well rested Mandrake. This led into double team move from the Highwaymen that led to the victory.

Xavier Woods Defeats Bobby Dutch
Write up by SnowMan Jones

He is 6’4″ and 285 pounds.  The young Flying Dutchman Bobby Dutch calls Brooklyn New York his home, and he has a body like a washing machine.  However, his youth and size weren’t enough to defeat former Total Nonstop Wrestling star Xavier Woods (AKA Consequences Creed).

Dutch was able to bloody the mough of Woods with a misplaced elbow though, which seemed to only upset the seasoned Woods.

Come out to Florida Championship Wrestling every Thursday night to see these two walk the path to World Wrestling Entertainment stardom.  They wrestle in Florida Championship Wrestling arena in Tampa, FL.

The biggest and baddest man in Florida Championship Wrestling was dominant in a match with Bo Rotundo, Roman Leakee, and Calvin Raines, but it was Rotundo who picked up the victory.  So where does this put Bo Rotundo in the title hunt in Florida Championship Wrestling?

“Rotundo is one of our top up-and-coming stars,” said an Florida Championship Wrestling insider.  “Mason Ryan or Rotundo will be on World Wrestling Entertainment television regularly in 2011.

In a heated match, it was Rosa Mendes and AJ Lee (the heels) who defeated Kaitlyn and Naomi Knight.

AJ, who was sporting the Women’s Championship, looked sharp in this match.  Rosa also looked good in the ring with her new Queen of Florida Championship Wrestling tiera.

The highlight may have been the performance of Kaitlyn and Naomi, who are clearly ready for World Wrestling Entertainment television.  Kaitlyn was VERY over with the crowd, and Naomi was probably the most athletic competator in the ring.

Florida Championship Wrestling – January 6, 2011 – Tampa, FL
by SnowMan Jones

On Thursday 1-6-2011 Percy Watson took on Lucky Cannon in a match that saw Percy pick up the victory.  Both Percy and Lucky are in the best shape of their careers, and their gimmicks have developed nicely since their debuts.

In a comedy spot, Cannon ran the ropes for a full minute and a half, while Percy snuck out and watched from the crowd.  Cannon collapsed, out of breath from running too much.

Overall, it was a good match between these two Florida Championship Wrestling regulars.  Cannon played the heel and Percy was the face.

Aksana Show Debuts FCW’s Newest Talent!

Florida Championship Wrestling – Tampa Florida
The Aksana Show

The non-television taping episode of the Aksana show was an interesting one indeed.  Aksana, brought out the newest Florida Championship Wrestling trainees for a NXT style game.  Aksana gave each trainee 60 seconds to cut a promo on the topic of her choice.  For example, “cut a promo about Lithuania.

The gentleman in front of her in the thumbnail to the left was probably the best promo of the bunch, so maybe we’ll see him on World Wrestling Entertainment television sometime soon.  The show ended when some 500 plus pound guy came out and interrupted the show.  He didn’t seem very athletic, as he had a hard time walking up the steps.

There was no indication if that group was signed World Wrestling Entertainment talent, or if they were pay-to-train Keirn students.  The photos below were taken by www.wrestling911.com’s SnowMan Jones

All tickets are $5 with 2 for 1 drink specials 7-9pm

ASW kicks off 2011 with a return to Strokers Tampa!

2010 ended with a party, but many issues unresolved

Aaron Kanye Epic weaseled his way out and remained ASW Heavyweight Champion. Has he earned the commissioner’s respect, or is the Don planning another lesson for the champ?

Florida Elite Champion Bobby Fonta had his back covered as when facing the challenge of Kennedy Kendrick, but with the Super Grover’s betrayal at Season’s Beatings are Bobby’s days as Champion numbered?

Eddie Taurus and the Uprising had pulled a fast one on Simon Sez and FXE when we last saw him, but the Emerald Emperor has had almost a month to plan his revenge.
Eddie has Eric Cooper to draw from. Will Simon get the payback for himself and his FXE brothers, or does Coop know all of his old partner’s tricks too well to be beaten?

And where is Alex Decay? Did the Misled Youth really put an end to him, or is the former leader of the Virus simply in remission?

The answers can only come on Full Throttle Friday Night!

Dark Match: Donny Marlow defeated some new guy with a “Spray-Bottle Gimmick” and he wears blue trunks

Xavier Woods defeated Bobby Dutch(I think that’s his name) and Xavier suffered a bloody mouth during the match NOTE: During this match a released MVP made his way into the arena just as a fan to attend the show for fun and all eyes left the ring and everyone was marking out for MVP as he made his way to sit in the 3rd row with some chicks.

Queen of Florida Championship Wrestling Rosa Mendes and Florida Championship Wrestling Diva’s champion AJ Lee defeated NXT season 3 winner Kaitlyn and Naomi Knight

Michael Tarver is back in Florida Championship Wrestling and came out to no music whatsoever and now has a mysterious sketchy like gimmick. He came out to the usual mask on the face with a “T” on it. Big E Langston would defeat Michael Tarver

Percy Watson pinned Lucky Cannon and Lucky is now a heel(Last time I saw him he was face) and Lucky started randomly bouncing off the ropes like 30 times while Percy got out of the ring and ate a fan’s popcorn

Six-Man tag but I don’t remember who was in it

Florida Tag Team Titles: Titus O’Neil and his partner(Don’t know who he is) defeated Seth Rollins and Richie Steamboat to retain the belts

Florida Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Non-Title Fatal-4 way match: Bo Rotundo defeated Mason Ryan(C), Roman Leakee, and Calvin Raines(Sorta looks like Eminem lol)

The Aksana show with new Florida Championship Wrestling talent and they were each given a topic just like NXT. Then some random big dude came in the ring and cut a promo but nobody could understand what he said

NXT Season 4 battle royal was the main event with 7 people(All 6 NXT Rookies and one Abraham Washington) Washington wins this and they actually fought in the crowd at Florida Championship Wrestling and I don’t think they’ve ever done this before because Byron didn’t want to enter the ring so Abe chased him all over the ring and fought in the crowd for like 8 seconds and I was able to touch Abe.
I think I covered it all.

At the end, everyone mauled MVP for autographs and pics and he wasn’t exactly the nicest guy, maybe because he still has a grudge with World Wrestling Entertainment and he was in a hurry, but I was able to get a picture with him. He sorta hurried the fans and even said to one lady, “Are you going to take the picture or not?” because she didn’t know how to work the camera. And that’s about it.
