  • MGK: ROCK ’n’ Rap ’n’ Wrestling — Invincible!

    Posted on by admin

Bad Boy Records’ newest recruit, Machine Gun Kelly, sounds off about John Cena, his dream tag team matchup, and why he is “so Cleveland” in the upcoming April 2012 edition of “WWE Magazine.”

What were your first thoughts when you found out that WWE
wanted to use your song “Invincible” for WrestleMania XXVIII?

I used to watch WWE when I was little, so hearing that was
just crazy for me. I was excited that someone was going to be kickin’ ass to my
    song! (Get “Invincible” on iTunes)

Not just anyone, but John Cena. Why do you think The Chain
Gang Commander is a good representative for “Invincible”?

Like me, I consider John Cena to be an underdog; The Rock is
like this flashy Hollywood guy. You can’t give him a song like “Invincible”
because no one would believe it. John Cena is all about being loyal to the
fans, and so am I. I just dig him as a person. I saw the video they made, and
the whole thing was intense. I loved all of it.

So, since “Invincible” is already taken, which other Machine
Gun Kelly song would you want to make your WWE entrance to?

“Wild Boy.” It’s a song that didn’t quite catch on at first,
but at around the third week, it just caught fire. Just like me.

OK, so imagine “Wild Boy” is blaring through the arena
speakers, describe how you would make your WWE debut…

There’s this strange connection between midgets and me. I
don’t know exactly what it is, but they come to my shows and are always going
the hardest out of everyone. So I’m thinking a gang of midgets coming out with
me, just knockin’ out everyone they see. Then I come out on a trained
rhinoceros. How’s that for something that’s never been done before?!?

What would you call your finishing move?
Mine would be titled, “Call The Homies.” Tell them to come
and clean up. I’d walk out of the ring and have them handle it. [Laughs.] No
    tag teams here!

OK, fine—so no tag teams in the ring, but how about on your
    next album?

Definitely DMX. He’s my idol. He is, to me, what John Cena
    is to the young fans.

Did you hear that USA Today said you’re now one of the 11
reasons people visit Cleveland? Why do you think that is?

Because I’m so Cleveland. From the outside looking in, I’ve
done a lot of stuff for that city. I bring a voice to the lower class, the
blue-collar workers. The Flash Mob incident—when we shut down the Southpark
Mall—it became international news. I watched a kid with Cerebral Palsy walk at
one of my shows. I came up from nothing, but I still bring life to Cleveland. I
    am Cleveland.

And if you could design your own WWE Championship belt, what
    would it look like?

It’d have [WWE Hall of Famer] Drew Carey’s face on it—front
and center. He’s a Cleveland boy, too.

MGK’s debut album, Lace Up, is due out early 2012!
“Invincible” is one of WrestleMania XXVIII’s official theme songs! (Get “Invincible” on iTunes)

  • How will Laurinaitis answer back on SmackDown?

    Posted on by admin

This week, both Raw and SmackDown get extreme makeovers,
following last week’s announcement by WWE’s Board of Directors that they would
switch control of each show in an effort to help determine which General
Manager should control both shows. While SmackDown GM Theodore Long took
control of the March 5 edition of Raw SuperShow, GM John Laurinaitis prepared
to take the reins of Friday’s SmackDown. (WATCH)

As the acting head of Raw, Teddy Long made an impact like
only he could, throwing Laurinaitis out of the building after the Interim GM’s
involvement in David Otunga’s match (FULL RAW SUPERSHOW RESULTS). Now, with
Laurinaitis in charge of this week’s SmackDown, the WWE Universe is left
wondering what steps “Mr. Excitement” will take to prove himself the true power
behind WWE’s current glory. Find out what will happen Friday on Syfy at 8/7
    CT.

The decision by the Board came one week after Laurinaitis
announced at Elimination Chamber that he will seek control over both shows,
bolstered by flattering testimonials by Superstars Mark Henry, Christian and
Alberto Del Rio. A perturbed Long made it clear to Laurinaitis that he’s not
about to take the threat to his position lying down.

  • WWE Raw SuperShow results: HBK to referee at WrestleMania

    Posted on by admin

    BOSTON
    – As the WWE Universe races toward WrestleMania XXVIII,
The Rock and John Cena continued their war of words, Shawn Michaels revealed
himself as guest referee for Triple H vs. The Undertaker, and Santino Marella
scored won the U.S. Championship in a historic, jam-packed edition of Raw SuperShow. Also, the power struggle between
Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis grew even fiercer, as the WWE Board
of Directors’ GM-swap experiment became a reality.

The Rock and John Cena resumed their war of words (WATCH | PHOTOS)
One week after his epic confrontation with The Rock on Raw SuperShow, Massachusetts
native John Cena entered Boston’s sold-out TD Garden to address last week’s
headline-grabbing showdown. Describing The Rock as the “Michael Jordan of the
mic,” Cena said that he did the unthinkable by getting the better of The Rock
in their verbal exchange and turning tongue-tied the normally unflappable Great
    One.

Wondering whether the Superstar who shows up April 1
will be the “dude who talks about Chinese takeout” or the greatest Superstar in
WWE history, Cena said he hopes The Rock who appears in Miami is at his best
    WrestleMania day.

Having heard enough, The Rock entered the arena and
dismissed the possibility that Cena had shaken The Great One last week. Rather,
The Rock said that he senses fear and doubt in Cena’s words. If Cena loses, the
Rock continued, it will negate all off Cena’s many accomplishments in WWE – a point
    that the Cenation leader conceded.

However, it was Cena eventually scored the last word in this
battle, telling The Rock – who by that point had returned to the locker room
area – that if he believes Cena’s lost his confidence, then The Rock has lost
    his mind.

    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
R-Truth, one of the six Superstars laid out by Kane’s ambush last
Monday, used his speed and agility to build a furious, but fleeting, onslaught
early on. Before long, Kane’s power took over, and The Big Red Monster bullied
Truth around the ring. Truth mounted a slight comeback, but after missing a
scissor-kick, he fell victim to a chokeslam.

As Kane stood victorious, Randy Orton – who The Big
Red Machine rudely welcomed back to SmackDown last Friday night – approached
the ring. With Truth holding onto his leg, Kane was sitting prey for The Viper,
who nailed an RKO and told Kane, “It’s good to be back.”

Undertaker and Shawn Michaels will both appear live on Raw SuperShow next week

How will The Phenom react to the news that HBK will referee The Undertaker vs.

    Big
    Show def. The Miz
    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Just as the match was getting under way,
Intercontinental Champion continued in his efforts to embarrass his
WrestleMania XXVIII opponent, Big Show. This time, instead of showing video of The
World’s Largest Athlete losing a match on The Grandest Stage of Them All,
Rhodes played a clip of Show eating at the WWE Restaurant New York on the day
of WrestleMania X8 and played it off as footage of Show in his “natural
    habitat.” (WATCH)

The video distracted Show long enough to give The Miz
an opening to attack him from behind. The advantage was short-lived, however,
and in a matter of moments, Show turned things around with a mammoth spear. He
then finished off his former Show-Miz partner with a jaw-shattering WMD.

Earlier tonight, Shawn Michaels informed Triple H that
he will guest referee The Game’s Hell in a Cell Match against The Undertaker at
    WrestleMania XXVIII.

    World
Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan Chris Jericho def. WWE Champion CM Punk
    and Sheamus
    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
WWE Champion CM Punk and the World Heavyweight
Champion Daniel Bryan, along with their respective No. 1 contenders, Chris
Jericho and Sheamus, all took to the ring for this high-octane tag team
    contest.

The match started out with the two Superstars seeking
to lay claim to the “Best in the World” title – Punk and Jericho – trading
holds and exchanging blistery strikes. As the action picked up steam, Sheamus
and Bryan each found their way into the mix. Midway into the bout, Sheamus
reversed a bulldog attempt by Jericho and launched Y2J knee-first into the
turnbuckle. Moments later, however, Jericho was able to break up Sheamus’
attempt at giving Bryan The Celtic Cross.

Eventually, Sheamus and Bryan spilled to ringside,
where The Celtic Warrior clobbered The Submission  Specialist with a thunderous double-axehandle. Inside the ring, Punk reversed the Walls
of Jericho into a small package, but the veteran Jericho managed to roll over
Punk just enough to secure Punk’s shoulders to the mat for the three-count.
After the match, Jericho grabbed the WWE Championship and pointed to it, while
a frustrated Punk could only look on.

    Eve
    def. Alicia Fox
    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After admitting on last week’s Raw SuperShow that she
has no qualms about using men to get what she wants, the newly cold-hearted Eve
faced Alicia Fox in a brief battle that ended when Eve rolled up Alicia. During the bout, Kelly Kelly, fresh off a Twitter war with Eve, sat in
on commentary and spoke with disappointment of her former friend’s troubling new
    attitude.

After the match, Zack Ryder, with the help of a
walking cane, appeared on stage before the WWE Universe. Long Island Iced-Z
tersely told Eve that he’s glad they never hooked up, and he reiterated an
aphorism that’s quickly become the stuff of legend: “Broskis before Hoeskis.”

Moments later, Eve locked lips with a stunned Ryder in the backstage area. (WATCH)

This Friday, Interim Raw GM John Laurinaitis takes the reins of Friday Night SmackDown (WATCH)

    Santino
Marella def. United States Champion Jack Swagger to win the title
    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The Milan Miracle continued his winning ways and
captured his first U.S. Championship after reversing an ankle lock and
surprising Jack Swagger with a schoolboy pin. SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long
granted the title opportunity to Marella following the WWE Board of Directors’
decision last week for Long to swap shows, and managerial duties, with Interim
    Raw GM John Laurinaitis.

During the bout’s opening moments, Dolph Ziggler –
who, along with Vickie Gurrero, seconded Swagger at ringside – distracted
Marella, enabling The All-American American to deliver a gut-wrench powerbomb. In addition to Ziggler and Vickie, Laurinaitis and his
legal counsel, David Otunga, showed up to ringside, as did Long’s contingency
of his girlfriend, Aksana, and Raw Superstar Kofi Kingston.

The warring GMs scuffled throughout the match,
distracting referee Scott Armstrong on numerous occasions. At one point,
Marella sent Ziggler, who was trying to interfere on Swagger’s behalf, flying
off the ring apron with the Cobra. Amid all the commotion, Marella was able to stun The
All-American American with a pinfall. After the match, Laurinaitis grabbed the microphone and
complained that Long was taking over his show. Long replied by calling for
security, who escorted Laurinaitis and Otunga out of the TD Garden.

    Shawn
Michaels will be the special guest referee for the Triple H vs. The Undertaker Hell
in a Cell Match at WrestleMania XXVIII
    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Before a sold-out TD Garden, Raw SuperShow kicked off
with the hotly anticipated return of Shawn Michaels. HBK wasted
no time in inviting longtime ally Triple H to the ring to explain his decision
behind not only accepting The Undertaker’s challenge for a match at
WrestleMania, but also demanding that the match take place inside Hell in a
    Cell.

After dismissing HBK’s suggestion that being unfavorably compared
to Michaels is what led him to accept the match, Triple H acknowledged HBK’s
WrestleMania XXVI loss to The Phenom – a loss that sent Michaels into
retirement – and stated that it pains him to look at Michaels as a “loser.” The
Game said that when he steps into Hell in a Cell with The Undertaker at
WrestleMania, he’ll end both The Undertaker, and his Streak, in HBK’s honor.

Visibly taken aback by the comment, an offended
Michaels told Triple H that, much like last year, he knows who’s going to win
The Undertaker-Triple H match this year because he will serve as special guest
    referee.

  • WWE’s biggest power struggles

    Posted on by admin

The battle brewing between SmackDown General Manager
Theodore Long and his interim Raw counterpart, John Laurinaitis, over who should rule
over both WWE brands is hardly the first power struggle in WWE’s
history. Those previous conflicts have had colossal effects across the entire WWE landscape. And if the past is any example of what will happen when the
dust has settled between Long and the Executive Vice President of Talent
Relations, the course of WWE history could be altered monumentally.

As the General Managers of Raw and SmackDown duke it out for
ultimate supremacy, look back at the effects these prior battles have
    had on WWE. (PHOTOS)

    Ric Flair vs. Mr.
    McMahon

After leading WWE in vanquishing the WCW/ECW Alliance at
Survivor Series 2001 in a Winner-Take-All Match, Mr. McMahon thought he could go
back to business as usual. The Nov. 19 edition of Raw from Charlotte, N.C., was filled with change. Nearly all remnants of
the WWE Chairman’s former competition were removed. The extremely loud Paul
Heyman was replaced at the announce table by future WWE Hall of Famer Jerry
“The King” Lawler. Staunch Alliance supporter William Regal was forced to join
an infamous club in order to save his career. To top it all off, Mr. McMahon
was going to strip “Stone Cold” Steve Austin of the WWE Championship as
retribution for his defection to the enemy.

Ric Flair returns to WWE in November 2001McMahon planned on handing the title to Kurt Angle, who believed himself
to be a hero after covertly aiding WWE in eradicating The Alliance. Suddenly, the familiar strains of Ric Flair’s entrance music echoed throughout the arena, and “The Nature Boy” made his way into a WWE ring for the first time in eight years.
The WWE Chairman and Angle looked amused, thinking the future WWE Hall of Famer
had come out to get a round of applause from the crowd in “Flair Country” and
    be on his merry way.

Flair, however, had other plans. He revealed that when Mr.
McMahon’s children, Shane and Stephanie, sold their WWE shares in order to buy
WCW and ECW, rsepectively, a consortium bought them. “WOOOOO! The consortium was me!” Flair exclaimed, making Mr. McMahon grow
    uneasier by the second.

A beaming Nature Boy, grinning from ear to ear, did his
trademark strut across the ring before declaring himself and the WWE Chairman co-limousine-riding, jet-flying, kiss-stealing, wheeling, dealing sons-of-guns. “We’re
partners!” he screamed as he gave a big hug to a stunned McMahon.

Ric Flair and Mr. McMahon meet in a Street Fightto no one’s surprise, the co-owners clashed on all matters
pertaining to WWE – so much, in fact, that the WWE Chairman literally put up a fight to
keep The Nature Boy out of his family’s business. Flair and Mr. McMahon met
in a brutal Street Fight at the 2002 Royal Rumble, though in retrospect, perhaps he should have thought twice before battling “The Dirtiest Player in the Game,” who ultimately emerged victorious.

Still, the rift between the WWE’s two owners was massive.
Unable to continue business in a normal manner, the company’s Board of
Directors made an unprecedented decision that still affects the company to this
day. WWE’s two shows, Raw and SmackDown, would be treated as separate entities,
with exclusive rosters of Superstars and Divas. Flair was placed in charge of Raw,
while Mr. McMahon took control of SmackDown. The inaugural WWE Draft took place
on March 25, 2002, with both owners hand-picking Superstars to compete on their
    brand.

Ultimately, McMahon regained full control of his company in
July 2002, defeating Flair on Raw in a match with sole ownership of WWE at
stake. The battle for power, however, did not end there.

    Eric Bischoff vs. Stephanie McMahon

Mr. McMahon introduces Eric Bischoff as Raw GMOne week after taking back the WWE reins, the Chairman
decided that he preferred to oversee the entire company, and thereby appointed General
Managers to run the WWE’s two brands. Mr. McMahon shocked the world when he
introduced the man who tried to put him out of business, Eric Bischoff, as
Raw’s GM. The following Friday, he selected his daughter, Stephanie, to head up
    the operations of SmackDown.

It didn’t take long for Bischoff and the younger McMahon to
butt heads. The two GMs tried to poach Superstars from each other’s rosters
within days of their starts in office. At Vengeance 2002, Bischoff tried to
lure Triple H from SmackDown, while his ex-wife argued for him to remain on the
blue brand. (WATCH) Eventually, the lure of waging war against Shawn Michaels persuaded The
Game toward Monday nights. Stephanie McMahon, however, would pull off one of the
most shocking signings in WWE history.

At the time, the Undisputed WWE Champion was the only Superstar able to
move back and forth between brands. That all changed in late August 2002, when
Stephanie convinced then-champion Brock Lesnar to put pen to paper on an
exclusive SmackDown contract, essentially holding the WWE Championship hostage.

Stephanie McMahon and Eric Bischoff try to convince Triple H to join their brandThough initially enraged that he had been outsmarted by
Stephanie, the cunning Bischoff crafted a plan that would put him back on equal
footing with his rival. On Sept. 2, 2002, the Raw GM rewarded Triple H for his
defection to Monday nights. He presented The Game with a lavish gold title and christened him as World Heavyweight Champion, ensuring that Raw would never be
without a champion. His power play also guaranteed that Stephanie’s champion
could no longer be considered the undisputed title-holder in WWE, leaving millions to
argue over which champion – and ultimately, what brand – was supreme.

    “Stone Cold” Steve
    Austin vs. Eric Bischoff

Bischoff’s style of management didn’t put him in the good
graces of many. His abrasive attitude prompted many to call for his head. Rather
than axe him, however, the WWE Board of Directors established a system of checks and
    balances for Raw’s GM.

Stone Cold Steve Austin angers his co-general manager, Eric BischoffNo one could have expected what that system was as Bischoff
was given a partner with whom to split the duties of General Manager. That is, until April 28, 2003, when the WWE Universe erupted over the sound of glass shattering
reverberated, signaling the arrival of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The Texas
Rattlesnake began his term as co-GM by re-introducing himself to Bischoff like
only he caould, with a thunderous Stone Cold Stunner.

Austin established early on that he preferred to make
decisions on his own. On his first official night in office the following week,
he brought the Intercontinental Championship out of retirement and immediately
rehired Jim Ross as the lead announcer for the longest running episodic show in
television history. Bischoff was unhappy that he was left out of the decision
making process and let Austin know that he had started his term off on the
wrong foot. “Stone Cold” didn’t seem to care too much and went on to throw a
huge beer bash later in the night. (WATCH)

Austin stomps a mudhole in Eric BischoffBischoff and Austin clashed on many issues during their shared term
as co-General Managers. They attempted to settle their differences on several
occasions, including a Redneck Triathlon at Bad Blood 2003. The event, devised
by The Texas Rattlesnake, consisted of a burping contest, a pie-eating contest
and a Pig-Pen Match. Austin came out on top that night, but still remained at
    odds with his co-GM.

By November, the rivalry had reached its boiling point. The two
agreed that at Survivor Series, they would each pick a team of five Superstars
to face off, with the winning GM’s team assuming sole control over Raw. Team
Bischoff looked to have things wrapped up, as Christian, Chris Jericho and
Randy Orton remained, while Shawn Michaels was the last man left on Austin’s
team. HBK bounced back in a big way, narrowing the field down to just Orton and
himself. Unfortunately, though, The Viper had backup in the form of Batista, who laid
out Michaels and gave the victory and control over Raw to Eric Bischoff,
getting The Rattlesnake out of Bischoff’s hair for good.

    Theodore Long vs.
    Vickie Guerrero

John Laurinaitis’ power play isn’t the first one that Teddy Long
has had to muscle through during his years as SmackDown GM. In 2007, Long hired Vickie
Guerrero as his assistant to lighten his workload. He suffered a heart attack
later in the year, giving her sole power over Friday nights.

Guerrero quickly let the power go to her head. She used her
new job to make life easier for herself, nephew Chavo Guerrero and The Rated-R Superstar, Edge. Her biased decision-making
kept The Ultimate Opportunist constantly in the hunt for the World Heavyweight
and WWE Championships, and ended with him winning gold on multiple occasions.

Long was forced to become Guerrero’s assistant after he had fully recovered. Though he tried to force and coerce Vickie into calling things down the
middle, her love for Edge made fairness a pipe dream. Unable to help maintain
balance on SmackDown, Long left to take the reins of ECW, where he flourished
    as General Manager.

Theodore Long confronts Vickie Guerrero and Dolph ZigglerWWE’s first African-American General Manager eventually returned
to the helm of SmackDown in 2009, while Guerrero found a new role as the
manager of Dolph Ziggler. Their paths would cross again in the winter of 2010. Long was
found unconscious backstage under mysterious circumstances, and Vickie was
named Acting General Manager in his stead.

Guerrero, of course, used her newly regained power to grant
Ziggler every opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship, held by her
ex-husband, Edge. Ziggler could not defeat The Rated-R Superstar, leading his desperate
manager to simply strip Edge of the title and give it to him.

Thankfully, Theodore Long returned to take back his office
and restore justice on SmackDown in January 2011. He forced Vickie into revealing that she had
Ziggler attack him, putting him out of office. Long then forced Ziggler to defend
his title on the spot against Edge. The Rated-R Superstar regained his gold,
while Ziggler was fired immediately. Long got rid of Guerrero several weeks
later, ensuring he could run Smackdown in peace.

If these epic rivalries are any indication of what could
happen when all is said and done between Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis, every
Superstar, Diva and member of the WWE Universe will need to keep a close eye on
what goes down, because the WWE may never be the same again.

Wrestlemania XIX was my first one
back after believing my career was over. And that match, against
Jericho, was phenomenal. From then on, every match after that felt like a
second chance. Before my bout at ‘Mania XII, Vince McMahon said to me,
‘Hey, I want you to enjoy this time.’ And when I came back in 2002, he
asked me about that night. And I had to admit that I didn’t enjoy then.
    But I do now.”

    “Everything in that match,
emotionally, for Ric [Flair] and me was genuine. So it’s fitting that I
actually didn’t go quite as far as I wanted to [when i went for the moonsault to the outside] and
ended up breaking my ribs on the table. It changed things for the
viewer. If, just for a moment, you can make the audience feel genuine
emotion, that’s the key to what we do. And that makes all the difference

    “To fully appreciate these
matches, you have to understand that there was simply a moment in time
when people who made the decisions in WWE thought Undertaker and I would
never wrestle. He’s too big and ominous, and I’m too small and flaky.
And so, for it to come down to him and me being the guys who were the
cornerstone of WWE for two decades, that was pretty cool. I don’t know
if I’ve ever wrestled a perfect match, but that one in Houston came
pretty darn close. It worked—and I couldn’t think of a better Superstar

  • 10 triumphant "Stone Cold" moments

    Posted on by admin

In “Recoil,” WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin plays a mysterious stranger named Ryan Varrett. In the town of Hop, Washington, he finds himself at odds with an evil crime lord, Drayke (Danny Trejo) and a corrupt police department. As Varrett, “Stone Cold” sets out to triumph over evil in this action-packed thriller. WWE.com looks back at 10 moments when The Texas Rattlesnake overcame the odds and triumphed over his nefarious foes throughout his Hall of Famer career.

1439284896001|02:12“Stone Cold” fights corporate power at WrestleMania XV
    The
odds could not have been more stacked against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin
than they were heading into WrestleMania XV.  Ever since Austin won the
WWE Title at WrestleMania XIV, The Chairman made it his mission to
first dethrone The Texas Rattlesnake and then prevent him from
reclaiming the title any way he could. With his powerful faction, The
Corporation, and WWE Champion The Rock behind him, Mr. McMahon went as
far as entering the Royal Rumble Match and actually winning.

    It
appeared as though Austin would not have a chance to reclaim the WWE
Title. But when The Chairman relinquished his WrestleMania opportunity,
then-WWE Commissioner Shawn Michaels announced that the Royal Rumble
Match runner-up – “Stone Cold”- would instead battle The Rock. On The
Grandest Stage of Them All, The Texas Rattlesnake overcame the nefarious
Corporation, even as Mr. McMahon tried to assist The Rock, and he
    reclaimed the WWE Championship.

“Stone Cold” takes down The Alliance
Following Shane and Stephanie McMahon’s formation of The Alliance consisting of WCW and ECW competitors; they immediately began making their presence felt in WWE. WWE Superstars were taken off-guard and Mr. McMahon watched as The Alliance tried to overrun his empire. Due to his alliance with The Chairman, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin had adopted a more emotional personality and did not initially defend WWE. Mr. McMahon pleaded with The Rattlesnake to bring back his more aggressive side and even sacrificed himself to be beat up at the hands of Austin.

When Diamond Dallas Page and Rhyno squared off with The Undertaker and Kane on Raw, it was not long before The Alliance made their way to the ring and WWE Superstars responded resulting in an all-out brawl. As the battle raged in the ring and amongst Superstars backstage, “Stone Cold” sped into the arena in his pick-up truck and began taking out WCW and ECW competitors. It wasn’t until The Texas Rattlesnake reached the ring that the full extent of his impact was felt. Austin dealt Stunners to any WCW or ECW competitor in his path, standing tall with his fellow WWE comrades.

1094346446001|02:21“Stone Cold” outsmarts The New World Order
Following the shocking revelation that Ric Flair was co-owner of WWE with Mr. McMahon, The Chairman brought “a lethal dose of poison” into WWE to kill his creation in 2002. That poison was none other than the infamous New World Order – “Hollywood” Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. At No Way Out, The New World Order made the error of costing “Stone Cold” Steve Austin the Undisputed Championship and spray painting their trademark “nWo” on his back.

The New World Order was unaware of what The Texas Rattlesnake was capable of, but they would soon find out. Without warning, The WWE Hall of Famer began his retaliatory strikes on the black and white clad faction. Nearly running down Scott Hall with his pick-up truck, Austin forced Hogan and Nash to flee the arena only to find their limousine tires flat. As the pair sought refuge in an office, Austin lured them out using Hall as bait. When Hogan and Nash attempted to retrieve Hall, Austin locked them in a cage and returned to the ring with Hall in tow. It was then that “Stone Cold” pummeled “The Bad Guy” in the center of the ring, leaving him with “3:16” spray painted on his back.

    309182015001|01:28Calling Dr. “Stone Cold”
In October 1998, Mr. McMahon spent some time in a medical facility while recovering from a broken ankle. During the Monday Night Raw broadcast, WWE cameras were on location to check the status of The Chairman throughout the evening. At one point, Mr. McMahon received a visit from Mankind which resulted in the debut of the legendary Mr. Socko.

However, Mankind and Mr. Socko weren’t Mr. McMahon’s only visitors that evening. Dressed in doctor’s scrubs, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin used the opportunity to attack his arch nemesis. Austin pummeled Mr. McMahon’s ankle and proceeded to infamously whack the nefarious Chairman over the head with a bedpan. The WWE Chairman’s night ended when The Texas Rattlesnake shocked his enemy with a defibrillator.

“Stone Cold” banishes evil and saves Stephanie McMahon
    In
later 1998 and 1999, The Undertaker created one of the most evil
factions to ever exist in WWE. Known as The Ministry of Darkness, their
mission was to spread The Phenom’s gothic vision for the future of WWE
and to oust Mr. McMahon from power. One of The Deadman’s most evil acts
was the abduction of The Chairman’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon. The
first time she was abducted, she was quickly discovered and moved to
safety, however, the second time; The Undertaker had plans to marry The
    Billion Dollar Princess.

There was seemingly no one that could
prevent the evil Undertaker from carrying out his plans on Raw, as Big
Show and Ken Shamrock tried and were held off by The Ministry. However,
the dark power of The Phenom’s faction couldn’t hold-off an onslaught
from WWE Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The Texas Rattlesnake
plowed through every member of The Ministry in his path and sent The
Undertaker reeling before the ceremony could be completed. Although he
was Mr. McMahon’s sworn enemy, it did not stop Austin from doing the
right thing and saving The Chairman’s daughter.

1094346447001|03:31The Intercontinental Title goes for a swim
Before they clashed for the WWE Championship, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock battled over the prestigious Intercontinental Title. The rivalry over the title was so intense that The Great One actually stole the championship from The Texas Rattlesnake. At D-Generation X: In Your House in 1997, “Stone Cold” unleashed on The Rock at his Nation of Domination faction, reclaiming the title in an awesome rush of pure chaos where even the official was met with a Stunner.

The next night on Raw, Mr. McMahon decided that due to “Stone Cold’s” use of “excessive force” against The Rock, The Chairman was going to strip Austin of the title. Adding further insult, Mr. McMahon planned to award the title to The Rock. However, rather than surrender the title, Austin stunned The Great One and teased plans for the title. One week later, Austin delivered on his promise by tossing the Intercontinental Title off a bridge and into a river. “Stone Cold” proved that there were no lengths too great in his efforts to overcome those who would seek his demise.

Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon and The Rock get a Beer Bath
During his rivalry with Mr. McMahon, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin would also cross paths with the Chairman’s group of Superstars, The Corporation, specifically then WWE Champion, The Rock. The Texas Rattlesnake and The People’s Champ had previously battled over the Intercontinental Title, but with the pair about to square off for the WWE Title at WrestleMania XV, the stakes were even higher. One week before The Show of Shows, Mr. McMahon, The Rock and Shane McMahon decided to berate Austin on Monday Night Raw. This opened up the opportunity for the WWE Hall of Famer to up the ante.

The Texas Rattlesnake stormed into the arena driving a beer truck.  As the rig came to a halt at ringside, Mr. McMahon, Shane and The Rock were left completely baffled. Before the trio inside the ring could regain their composure, “Stone Cold,” wielding a hose connected to the truck, doused them in beer. In what would go down as one of the most memorable moments in WWE history, it also came to define the unpredictability of “Stone Cold” in his struggle against an opposing force.

309126496001|05:26“Stone Cold” ensures Mr. McMahon vs. Bret Hart at WrestleMania XXVI
Nearly 13 years after the infamous Montreal Screwjob, Bret “Hit Man” Hart returned to WWE to confront Mr. McMahon. That night at Survivor Series 1997 was also the first time that Mr. McMahon’s true nature as a ruthless executive came to light. Of course, The Chairman would eventually find himself embroiled in a legendary rivalry with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. So when the time came for Mr. McMahon and Bret Hart to sign a contract for a match at WrestleMania XXVI, there was no one better to ensure the WWE Chairman’s cooperation than The Texas Rattlesnake.

Austin shared a personal and well-documented history with both “Hit Man” and Mr. McMahon. But on this particular night, The Texas Rattlesnake would make sure The Chairman – his greatest nemesis – would get what was coming to him. Austin intimidated Mr. McMahon into signing the contract, with The Chairman and the WWE Universe under the impression that Hart was injured. However, The Rattlesnake and his WrestleMania XIII opponent then revealed that Hart was not hurt and Mr. McMahon would face The Excellence of Execution at 100 percent. Thanks to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Bret Hart would finally have his revenge on The Chairman on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

1397931090001|01:57The Texas Rattlesnake has a Zamboni license
At Breakdown: In Your House in September 1998, the Triple Threat Match between WWE Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Kane ended when both The Phenom and The Big Red Monster pinned The Texas Rattlesnake at the same time. Without a clear winner, Mr. McMahon decided that he would crown a new WWE Champion the next night on Raw. During the presentation ceremony, The Chairman was prepared to give Undertaker and Kane each a title, one the classic WWE Championship and the other as Austin’s custom made Smoking Skull title.

Moments before Mr. McMahon could present the championships, “Stone Cold” made his way into the arena. But there would be no stopping The Texas Rattlesnake on his way to the ring as he sped through the backstage area on a Zamboni. Once the WWE Hall of Famer reached ringside, he slammed the vehicle into the side of the ring, and ran off the top of it, clotheslining Mr. McMahon and unleashing his relentless fury.

1418244303001|01:40“Iron Mike” helps “Stone Cold” overcome the odds
In 1997, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin joined an elite group of Superstars by winning the Royal Rumble Match, securing a WWE Title opportunity at WrestleMania XIV. That very same night, Shawn Michaels retained the WWE Championship. The next evening on Raw, Mr. McMahon announced that legendary boxer Mike Tyson, who watched the Royal Rumble event from a luxury box the night before, would be the special referee in the WWE Championship Match at The Show of Shows. Austin did not take kindly to Tyson’s role and the two clashed inside the ring. This prompted The Chairman to instead make Tyson the special enforcer for the match, and it also appeared “Iron Mike” would side with HBK and D-Generation X.

At WrestleMania, the odds seemed stacked against “Stone Cold.” The battle between Austin and Michaels raged under the watchful eye of Tyson. The bout was competitive and truly highlighted why both Superstars would become WWE Hall of Famers. As the battle continued, the WWE official was taken out of action. When HBK attempted to take Austin down with Sweet Chin Music, The Texas Rattlesnake countered with a Stunner. Shockingly, Tyson entered the ring, made the count and crowned “Stone Cold” the new WWE Champion, helping Austin overcome the odds.

The odds could not have been more stacked against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin
than they were heading into WrestleMania XV.
Ever since Austin won the WWE Title at WrestleMania XIV, The Chairman
made it his mission to first dethrone The Texas Rattlesnake and then prevent
him from reclaiming the title any way he could. With is powerful faction, The

It appeared as though Austin would not have a chance to

  • A girl’s got to do, what a girl’s got to do

    Posted on by admin

On Monday Night Raw, through the boos and #hoeski chants, Eve reminded the WWE Universe that she was a “woman in a man’s world.” Very true. The former Divas Champion went on to say that there wasn’t a person in the world who wouldn’t love to be used by her. Arguably, also true. So is Eve, in fact, wrong about using her “natural strengths” to get ahead?

Eve is neither the first nor the last woman inside the WWE ring – or outside – to use her sexuality to get ahead in their careers. Now one of WWE’s most beloved Divas, Trish Stratus flaunted her sexuality to climb the ladder in the Divas’ locker room. Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson also had their moments of using their God-given physiques and irresistibility to get what they wanted. In Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe was famous for telling men what they wanted to hear to get her next role. Conniving? Maybe. Did it work? Absolutely. (PHOTOS)

In 2011 sociologist Catherine Hakim wrote a controversial book called Honey Money. In it, she stated that women needed to exploit their sexuality in order to get ahead in the workplace. It was an asset nearly every woman possessed, but very few were smart enough to use.

“Physical and social attractiveness deliver substantial benefits in all social interaction – making a person more persuasive, able to secure the cooperation of colleagues, attract customers and sell products,” Hakim wrote.

Hmm. She might be on to something.

We all know how beautiful Eve is, if the stunning green eyes, the perfect athlete’s body and your millions of clicks on her photo shoots on WWE.com are any indication. Yet let’s not forget how smart she is. Eve graduated with honors from USC with a degree in industrial and systems engineering. She is, essentially, the complete package. As @JoeyStyles likes to tweet “@EveMarieTorres is proof that God does exist.”

    Yes, Joey. Yes.

We often speak of equality amongst women. Equal pay. Equal opportunities. That there is still a glass ceiling, but the number of women holding high positions continues to grow. Women who have dedicated their lives to their craft with hard work, long days and many sacrifices.

The Divas division is no different, clawing their way onto TV and giving the WWE Universe OMG moments in the ring with superplexes and Superfly Splashes off the top rope. They are working hard to be on your radar. To be more than a line in results. And guess what, you’re talking about Eve. She’s on your radar – however dangerous that might seem with her condescending attitude in the ring.

With that, what is the problem with Eve using her sexuality to advance her career? She did, in fact, only kiss John Cena in a tense moment when the Cenation leader saved her from the maniacal Kane. She never kissed Zack Ryder. Men just can’t resist her, and she knows it. Is that her fault? Does this make her a #hoeski? Or does it make her smarter than the rest of us?

Sometimes in this man’s world, a woman’s got to do what a woman’s got to do to get ahead.

  • Jerry "The King" Lawler joins forces with Dick Tracy

    Posted on by admin

America’s favorite crime fighter, Dick Tracy, gets a special tag-team partner in his daily newspaper comic strip. The legendary yellow fedora-wearing detective gets an assist from WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler.

The latest story features a criminal wrestler named Thunderchild who finds himself at odds with classic Dick Tracy villain The Mole. During an event where Thunderchild is competing, Jerry “The King” Lawler serves as one of the play-by-play commentators, similar to his role on WWE Raw SuperShow. An avid comic book enthusiast and talented artist, Lawler was honored to be featured alongside the legendary detective.

“Mike Curtis, the writer of the strip, is a big WWE fan and called me a few weeks ago asking if he could include me in the story and help Tracy crack a case.” Lawler told WWE.com. “It’s almost surreal,” gushed the WWE Hall of Famer, “I grew up reading Dick Tracy’s adventures, so to be drawn with him is almost too good to be true.”

Dick Tracy, created by Chester Gould and distributed by Tribune, first appeared in newspapers in 1931. “I thought the only thing I had in common with Tracy was that we both started in 1931!” joked “The King.”

In the strip, Lawler doesn’t just call the action as Tracy tries to solve the case; he fights right alongside the world famous detective. “There’s a big surprise for Dick Tracy fans and WWE fans in Sunday’s conclusion.” Lawler revealed to WWE.com without spoiling any details.

There’s one case the WWE Hall of Famer wishes that Dick Tracy were real to solve, and it involves none other than Michael Cole. “I wish Tracy were around in real life, I’d ask him to dig up some incriminating evidence on Michael Cole and put him away with The Mole and all those other cartoonish villains.”

  • Mark Henry’s impressive achievements over the ropes

    Posted on by admin

Before Mark Henry was The World’s Strongest Man inside a WWE ring, the powerhouse was competing in weightlifting competitions all across the globe. With  Henry’s induction into the International Sports Hall of Fame at the the Arnold Sports Festival, look back at the Superstar’s impressive past, and check out WWE.com’s photo retrospective of Henry’s WWE career.

Silsbee High School: Mark Henry graduated from Silsbee High School in Texas. Already standing 6-foot-3 and weighing more than 300 pounds, he was voted the strongest teen in America. Henry was a three-time state champion weightlifter, breaking state records in squat, bench press and deadlifts.

In Henry’s mind, records are made to be broken. In 1991 a young Henry did just that -breaking four national junior records. But the accolades would not stop there.
