I love not having to suspend my disbelief....two people truly seem to be going at it because there's a personal issue at stake and I'm rooting for one of them and can't wait to see the other one get their ass kicked, and as an audience member I can get lost in the moment and truly be engaged in the feeling they are trying to get across to me/us. (Wrestling 101....sounds so simple, yet so rarely executed well these days, although our internet couch-critic cynicism as fans is partly to blame too.) I love watching someone who is truly busting their ass in and out of the ring and clearly loves every minute of it, takes pride in it, gets off on it and gets off on the crowd getting off on it. I love an innovative moveset....not the flippity-floppity forget-to-sell demolition derby that serves the bloodthirsty smark sheep chanting "This is awesome", but craftsmen/craftswomen who wish to take their art to the next level and keep it evolving, keep it interesting and unpredictable, keep it relevant to the times instead of just doing the same-old same-old. I love watching someone who I thought was the drizzling shits earlier in their career proving me wrong by staying dedicated to their craft and continuing to learn and grow and improve until I'm forced to eat my words. I love the comraderies that develop among people on both sides of the guardrail who still appreciate and enjoy this art form and find some sense of community as a result.

I hate the local inter-promotional backbiting, particularly considering that no local promotion is paying anyone enough to make a full-time living off of this; every worker should be allowed if not encouraged to get as much experience and variety and compensation as they can at what they do because it will only make them better, and they deserve it. I hate watching an up-and-comer get the legs cut out from under their push or a tag team broken up too soon because they are getting "too over" with their own efforts and ingenuity instead of being the booker's "chosen one(s)". I hate seeing the same stale match-ups or title-holders over and over again for no other reason than they are the promoter's pet favorite (or worse yet, the promoter's hopelessly mediocre son/daughter). I hate when a face or heel turn happens for a paper-thin reason due to lazy storytelling, or just happens too often to the point where it's hard to invest your cheers or boos in anybody. I hate that the national scene is a virtual monopoly; not everybody fits the same mold and they deserve to have a decent alternative to take their talents to in order to thrive at what they excel at as opposed to what one guy thinks they should look/act/work like. I hate the downward spiral of drugs and despair that some performers end up in after years of giving their all to a never-ending schedule of physical abuse and pressure-cooker head games. I hate hearing how someone's childhood dream turned into a soul-sucking job that they could never truly clock out of until their contract expired and they could finally just walk away from it altogether.
